Baldwin Joseph Francis D'Souza (as he loved to be known as) was born on May 22, 1934 in Bombay, India to Antonio & Mary D'Souza. He is predeceased by his parents' and his four siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bernadette, aka Bunny (nee Rodrigues), They are proud of their children: Andrew (Jackie), Roger (Avril), Marsha and Conrad (Joan), along with their Grandkids: Jason (Rachel) - with Great Grandchild Celia, Leanne (Nick), Ethan, Ryan, Sarah & Noah.
Baldwin got his Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the illustrious VJTI Engineering University in India in the early 1950's and was in the top students to graduate in his class, He proceeded to work for companies like CalTex and Nocil (now part of Arvind Mafatlal) before deciding to move his family to the United Arab Emirates in the early 70's.
While there, he worked for the Public Works Department (PWD) in Al Ain before taking on a senior role in the in Abu Dhabi Water Engineering Works and as a Member of the Institute of Water Engineers and Scientists, sharpening his sword, he quickly made it to Chief Engineer responsible for the design and implementation of critical infrastructure, including bridges, roadways, water plants and schools buildings.
He proudly sent his 3 sons to study in the United States while lovingly caring for his darling wife and doting daughter, who just happens to have the same birthday as him, but 29 years later! He and Bunny had all four of their kids in a quick 5 years!!!
In the late-90's, Baldwin and Bunny retired back to their beloved Bombay, where we can truly say, he lived happily ever after.
While we miss him dearly, we are so happy and proud to know that now, as he watches us from above, that he sees with wonderment the legacy he helped create and left to grow; one with strong roots in faith, hope, perseverance and most importantly Love!
